With her engagement plans shattered, 29-year-old Haruko escaped to Tokyo. However, soon after she arrived, she unknowingly began sleeping with a married man and is thrown out into the dark by his wife! Completely nude, no less! So much for her "fresh start." It is the neophyte theater actress Ayumu who comes to her rescue and offers her a place to stay. However, not long after she gets settled in, a burglar breaks in and steals all her belongings! And without a form of ID, she can't even get a new credit card issued! Haruko's just about ready to call it quits and return home to her parents... Meanwhile, Ayumu's college friend Maki is rejected by her once again. When Haruko comes by, he leaps into her arms...! As Act 3 of Haruko's Tokyo life unfurls, she finds a kindred spirit in Maki. Could he be her new source of solace?
