Maki's husband, Koichi, has just lost his father. While helping with the funeral arrangements, Maki catches Koichi crying on the shoulder of his college friend, Yorishima. For years, Maki has known that Koichi never loved her and that his true feelings were for Yorishima. Determined to end the charade, Maki tries to file for divorce, but Koichi tears up the papers. In a desperate attempt to keep her from leaving, Koichi forces himself on her. Undeterred, Maki runs out on him. Is this finally Maki's chance at true love and happiness?
